The team
Armin Schwartzman
Armin Schwartzman received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Technology; and his PhD in Statistics from Stanford University. He was an R&D engineer at Rockwell Semiconductor and Biosense Webster and has held faculty positions at Harvard University and North Carolina State University. He is currently Professor at the University of California, San Diego, with a joint position between Biostatistics and the Halicioglu Data Science Institute. His research interests are in signal and image analysis, with applications to biomedicine and the environment.
Kristen Hansen
Kristen Hansen received her BA in Statistics and Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2013. She is currently a PhD candidate in Biostatistics at the University of California, San Diego. Her research interests include spatial and temporal statistics with applications in the Environment and Environmental Epidemiology.
Darren Liu
Darren Liu received his BS in Data Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2021. He is currently interning at Ultra Mobile as a data engineer. His interests lie in creating optimal big data integration pipelines in the industry.
Matthew Waismann
Matthew Waismann received his BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles and his MS in Statistics from the University of California, San Diego. His interests include machine learning and high-dimensional data analysis with a focus on making statistical tools and ideas more widely accessible.
